Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Click "Sign Up" in the top navigation, enter your email and password, and follow the prompts. You'll receive a confirmation email to verify your account.
What types of accounts are available?
We offer three main account types:
- Village Supporter: For individuals exploring local services (€5.00 per month)
- Business: For professionals and businesses — €29.00 per month month or €290.00 year (2 months free)
- Club Page: Free — for community organisations and clubs
Is there a free trial?
You can browse listings for free without subscribing. Club subscriptions include a 60-day free trial. Village Supporter subscriptions charge immediately with no trial period.
Listings & Clubs
How do I create a business listing?
After subscribing to a Business plan, go to your dashboard and click "Create Listing." Fill in your business details, add images, select your category, and choose your service area.
Can I edit my listing after publishing?
Yes! You can edit your listing at any time through your account dashboard. Changes are reflected immediately.
How do I add images to my listing?
When creating or editing your listing, use the image upload section. We recommend high-quality images (at least 800x600 pixels) that showcase your business or club.
What areas can I serve?
You can select specific villages, towns, or cities, or choose to serve an entire county or region. You can also indicate if you serve all of Ireland.
Subscriptions & Billing
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your card details on our servers.
When will I be charged?
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Your first payment is taken when you subscribe, and subsequent payments occur on the same day each month.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to your account settings and select "Manage Subscription," or contact us at hello@my-village.ie. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
Generally, subscription fees are non-refundable. However, we review requests on a case-by-case basis in line with Irish and EU consumer law. See our Subscription Policy for details.

Every account type on my-village.ie plays a different role in the local ecosystem. Here's what each one does — and how they work together.
Village Supporter
€5.00 per month — for individuals
The Village Supporter plan is for people who want to stay connected to their local area. Whether you've just moved to a village or have lived there your whole life, this plan gives you a home on the platform and keeps you in the loop on everything happening nearby.
- Personalised village feed — news, events, and notices from your area
- Browse and discover local businesses, clubs, and services
- Support local clubs directly through the platform
- Access the Village Square, Notice Board, and community events
- Participate in Ask My Village and local Q&A
Business
€29.00 per month month — or €290.00 year (2 months free)
The Business plan is for local professionals, tradespeople, and businesses who want to be found by the people in their area. Rather than competing on national directories, you appear exactly where your customers already are — in their village.
- A dedicated business listing visible to villagers in your area
- Appear in village-scoped searches (e.g. "plumbers in Bandon")
- Add photos, contact details, categories, and service areas
- Receive enquiries directly through the platform
- Annual plan saves 2 months vs monthly billing
Club Page
Free — clubs are free to support local communities
The Club Page plan is built for GAA clubs, sports teams, tidy towns groups, community associations, and any organisation that brings people together locally. It gives your club a permanent home on the platform — visible to every villager in your area.
- A dedicated club profile with description, photos, and contact details
- Post updates, events, and news directly to your village feed
- Appear on the Support Leaderboard — villagers can back your club with credits
- 60-day free trial — no charge until you're ready
- Manage club staff and multiple team members from one account
How they build community together
No single account type makes a village — it's the combination that creates something real. When all three are present in a place, the platform becomes a living reflection of that community.
Village Supporters are the heartbeat. They browse, discover, and engage — attending events, backing clubs, and finding local services. Their activity signals what matters in a village.
Businesses are the backbone. A local plumber, a café, a childminder — when they're visible on the platform, villagers stop searching nationally and start buying locally. Every business listing strengthens the local economy and keeps money in the community.
Clubs are the glue. A GAA club, a tidy towns group, a drama society — clubs give people a reason to show up. When villagers support a club through the platform, that support is visible to everyone, creating a public record of community pride.
Together: a villager discovers a local café through the business listings, attends a club event posted on the village feed, and backs the club on the Support Leaderboard — all without leaving their village. That's the loop my-village.ie is designed to create.
