Welcome Brief
Getting StartedGood morning, Glounthaune. You're early — this village is just getting started on My Village. My Village is designed to give local communities one simple place online for village updates, clubs, businesses, events, services and local discovery. As more people join, this brief will become a short daily snapshot of what is happening nearby — from club updates and local events to useful services and community posts. For now, this is your welcome brief: a preview of what your village space can become. You can help shape Glounthaune by joining, posting, adding a business or club, or supporting something local. This has been your Village Brief.

When a death occurs at home, it can feel overwhelming, especially if it is unexpected. Knowing what to do can help bring a sense of calm during a very difficult time. If the death was expected: You should contact the family GP or out-of-hours doctor. The doctor will attend and confirm the death. Once this has been done, you can contact a funeral director to begin arrangements. If the death was unexpected: You should contact emergency services by dialling 999 or 112. The Gardaí and a doctor will attend. In some cases, the Coroner may become involved. Once the death has been confirmed, we can guide you through the next steps, including bringing your loved one into our care and helping you begin funeral arrangements. At Keohane’s, we are available to support families at any time, day or night, to gently guide you through what happens next.
